Questions | Answers |
What is hoisin made of? | Hoisin sauce ingredients can vary but the main ingredients
are fermented soybeans, five-spice powder, garlic, red chilli peppers, and
sugar. |
How do you keep stir fry pork tender? | The pork is kept tender by ensuring the maximum amount of moisture
is maintained in the meat. To keep the pork tender, don’t overcook it, so make
sure you have prepared all the vegetables before you start the stir fry. Marinating
the meat before you cook it will also add extra moisture. Don’t add to much
meat at once to the wok as the meat will boil rather than fry giving it an odd
texture. |
Can I substitute hoisin sauce for soy sauce? | No, these two sauces have very different textures and flavour
profiles, hoisin is sweet and thick, soy is salty and thin. |
What type of pork is best for stir fry? | Pork fillet or tenderloin, or the meat from pork chops
works well too |
