Chicken Goujons with Honey Mustard Dip

What you need Ingredients


  • 100 grams bread crumbs
  • 2 egg
  • 3 sprig fresh parsley
  • 320 grams mini chicken fillets
  • 1 tsp mustard powder
  • 30 grams plain flour
  • 1 tbsp sunflower oil
  • salt (to taste)
  • black pepper (to taste)

  • 5 tbsp mayonnaise light
  • 1 tbsp wholegrain mustard
  • salt (to taste)
  • 0.5 lemon

How it's done Directions

Step 1

  • set the oven to 180C 350F or gas mark 4
  • break the egg(s) into the shallow bowl and beat with a fork
  • season with salt and pepper
  • place the flour on a plate

Step 2

  • wash and finely chop the fresh parsley
  • place the breadcrumbs on a plate add the mustard and parsley and mix
  • heavily coat the baking tray with oil using a pastry brush

Step 3

  • place the oil in a cup
  • organise the breading ingredients into a row with the flour first , then the egg and finally the breadcrumbs.
  • slice the chicken fillets into small strips or goujons
  • take the chicken strips or goujons and dip into the flour
  • From the flour dip the chicken into the egg fully coating it. Then place into the breadcrumbs and coat in breadcrumbs
  • place the crumbed chicken onto the oiled baking tray and dab the breaded chicken with oil from the cup using a pastry brush
  • repeat for each chicken strip.
  • place in the oven
  • bake for 15 minutes turning once part way through cooking

Step 4

  • while the chicken is cooking

Step 5

  • squeeze the lemon(s) .
  • add the mayonnaise to the bowl
  • add the mustard
  • Add the honey
  • add the lemon juice a tsp at a time till it matches your taste
  • season with salt and pepper
  • mix together
  • add a little water if necessary to make the dip the consistency of thick cream
  • set a side to infuse

Step 6

  • remove the chicken from the oven

Step 7

  • check the chicken is cooked by piercing the chicken and checking the juices run clear
  • place the goujons on a serving plate
  • serve with the dip
  • serve immediately
